The story of Orchard Delight began in 1960 in Ely, Cambridgeshire when she was built by Appleyard Lincoln & Co (Boatbuilders) Ltd and exhibited at the International Boat Show which was held at Earls Court, London in 1961.
She is a 29ft River Cruiser—one of a diminishing number of boats on the River Great Ouse made completely of wood. |

Her original name was Brouhaha and she was owned by Harry Lincoln, owner of Appleyard & Lincoln and co-founder of the Boat Show. She is thought to be one of the first registered with the newly formed Great Ouse River Authority, Registration Number G4000.
Welcome to our website which we have published to celebrate Orchard Delight, the firm that built her, its owner, and others involved in her history.
Researching her history is on-going and if you have anything to add or think something may be incorrect please contact us.
